Welcome to the Organizational Psychology Information Exchange!

Our Goals:

The goal of OPIEWeb is to become THE central repository for all information which falls under the admittedly large umbrella of Industrial/Organizational Psychology. It’s a big community with a lot of knowledge. We seek to document and expand that body of information through a simple question and answer format.

Our Community:

OPIEWeb is an experiment in some ways. We have put the technology out there in the hopes that the IO Psych community will find it and use it. That is by no means a sure thing.

We welcome students, practitioners and academics alike to join us to achieve our goal of collecting and growing information about IO Psychology. We are empowering the IO community to ask, answer and moderate questions that will shape the future of the field. Here, the community is the authority. There is no editorial review board to shape an argument, only the community. By asking, answering and voting for posts in the site, members gain access to tools to help shape the future of IO Psych.

Our Site:

This site is powered by the StackExchange engine which is a new hybrid technology. It shares the ease of entry of a discussion board with the editorial control of wikis like Wikipedia. It also adds a reputation system which is instrumental in granting access to more powerful tools. As you ask and answer questions you will be developing trust within the system. See the FAQ for what abilities you gain at each reputation level.

Our Pledge:

The content on this site belongs to the community. It will always belong to the community. We will not harvest, sell or otherwise disseminate information you provide on this site. If you see information on OPIEWeb that you would like to use, please attribute it back to the original author and provide a means for your readers to find the same discussion which inspired you.
